Lau Sun House by Kyson Design

Lau Sun House was designed by Kyson Design. The building was not completed until Autumn 2007 due to a lengthly Planning Appeal, yet has already won the CIAT’s ‘Alan King Prize’ for Technical Excellence, was a finalist on Grand Designs TV show for ‘New Build’ home of the year 2008 and featured on the BBC Breakfast Show as well as many trade and consumer magazines.

The design has overcome many constraining factors on a tiny brownfield inner London site; being overlooked on almost all four boundaries lead to the innovation of containing the house’s outlook within the site’s architecture.

Whilst the overall design and project managementment were overscene by Kyson throughout, the first phase on construction ‘the Substructure’ and ‘Superstructure’ were carried out by our ‘on site’ team. The second phase to completion were carried out by the freeholder Paul Lau.

An amazing entrance consisting of large wooden planks leads to a wonderful home. High quality materials and remarkable construction makes this home an exceptional architectural find. Minimal exterior design is complimented well with the stunning interiors of the home.
