Mr.K’s house is located in the middle of the forest mountain. It cojure the image of a man sitting on the slope, says Mr.Morimura,an architect.
At the occasion of searching an architect, Mr.K has studied alot about the designing and finally reached Mr.Morimura among the other alternatives. As soon as Mr. Morimura saw the landscape, he visualized the above “man sitting” image and presented the plan to Mr.K,who accepted it and also brought it up to much more radical idea himself.

Night look from the roadside. You can see clearly the concrete “one stroke letter S”in section. A see-through glasses are so astonishing, but also make the house look much primitive and attractive. The big box penetrated the 1st & 2nd stories includes storages and closets, and big pillars supporting the house.
Mr.K’s house stands high on the hill of well-known celebrity area in Kansai district, looking down a central city of Osaka.Mr.K lives alone here for now, but requested a plan for his future family. Apart from that, Mr. Noriyoshi Morimura was able to make the plans freely, and realized the idea of “one stroke-writing” with concrete.

Mr.Morimura says that in his first idea the corners of the house were round, but Mr.K insisted they had to be square because it was more like him. Thus the plans changed radically at the rapid pace. And finally,Mr.Morimura opened the wall boldly, and from the road outside you can overlook Osaka town through Mr.K’s house.
The house looks like the shape of the letter “S” in cross section, which is apparently the outlook of the house. It also express the typical Mr.Morimura’s style which he always wants the powerfulness to the structure. And not only the bold ideas, but you can also see the thoughtful considerations in every detail.

Inside is a DK on the 2nd story, a living room split-leveled half floor down. A toilet and bathroom split further down. But unlike the typical split-level building, there is a concrete slopes between the floors, so that, you feel “one-roomed” only in the living-dinning-kitchen.Private zone (bedroom, toilet and so on) are separated, although they are connected by splitlevel spaces. And also for the comfortable life, Mr.Morimura has set a window screen on all of the opening of the house, the basement as a reserve storage space.
