HUDSON Architects’ Cedar House, a new-build private residence in Norfolk, pilots a new prototype for cost-effective new-build modern housing. It deploys innovative off-site construction, which simplifies the building process without compromising the architecture of the house.

Balanced on the spine of a rocky ridge, the linear house threads through a grove of arbutus. As you move through the house, the exposed rafters gradually invert into a butterfly roof opening to bring light and views into the main social areas.
